The light shines brightest
In the Dark.

As a Christian Holistic Coach I often find myself contemplating how life meets the divine and the connections between our routines and God’s amazing plan for life. Today I was pondering traditional activities of the Fourth of July and began to consider how we have to wait until the dark of night to view fireworks in all their glory. Fireworks are a popular Fourth of July event for the whole family to look forward to.
We pack our cars up with lawn chairs, snacks, and all the kiddos and walk a mile from our parking spot to get a good seat just to wait another hour or two for the sun to go down spending the evening looking up, waiting – eagerly (sometimes impatiently) for the fireworks display. I have many childhood memories of sitting on a blanket in a field waiting for the fireworks!
It’s not that Fireworks can’t go off during the day – but without the contrast of darkness, all you see is smoke and noise. There’s nothing really that awesome about fireworks in the light of day, is there? Would you go to the trouble to watch a fireworks show that went off middle of the day when the sun was illuminating the sky as it does? Probably not, because what would be the point? The brilliant colors and blasts of light would not stand out against the backdrop of a bright blue sky. The spectacular display of fireworks is revealed through the contrast of light and darkness. I’ll say that again…
The spectacular display of fireworks is revealed through the contrast of light and darkness.
In the Made for More community, my free Christian women’s facebook group, we’ve been talking about being the light. Sometimes your light isn’t just meant to shine…
It’s meant to be seen after the dark has settled in.
Because that’s when the light stands out the most.
So as we head into the weekend (USA!!
), take a moment to reflect…
So this weekend keep your eyes up! Trusting, patiently waiting, and eager that when the time is right – the show will start!
May you continue to grow in the blessings of the purpose He has placed in you.
From love,
