Have you ever felt like no matter how much you pray, read Scripture, or try to draw near to God, His love feels distant—just out of reach? Maybe you believe in His love in your mind, but deep down, you struggle to feel it in your heart.

 

You’re not alone.  Many of us build invisible walls around our hearts without even realizing it.  Sometimes, it’s because of shame – whispers that say, “You’re not good enough.”  Or it can be old wounds from rejection, abandonment, or feeling unlovable.  Maybe it’s the way we’ve learned to relate to people, always guarded because we’ve been let down too many times.

 

But here’s the truth: God loves you completely, exactly as you are without hesitation, without conditions, and without waiting for you to “fix” yourself.

 

 

“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” 1 John 3:1

 

If receiving His love feels hard, ask yourself:

Am I holding onto shame that God has already forgiven?

Am I afraid to trust love because I’ve been hurt before?

Am I still trying to earn what God has freely given?

 

You aren’t disqualified from His love. Not your past. Not your wounds. Not your doubts. His love is pursuing you right now, even in your worst moments, (especially in your worst moments!)

 

 

Let this be your challenge this week:

 

Pray boldly: “Lord, help me receive Your love in full measure.”

Meditate on this truth: God delights in me (Zephaniah 3:17)

Reflect on what might be standing in the way, and be willing to let Him heal it.
