As a Christian Life & Wellness coach this new life in Jesus is great news!  What does it mean to know you are new in Christ?  Living a new life in Christ empowers you because Jesus Christ “loves you so much that He gave His life for you and dispenses His resurrection life into you” Galatians 2:20 TPT.

The picture below was one of the last pictures of me and my spouse before what I like to call our day of the Lord as referenced in 1 Thessalonians 5:2 NIV, “for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.”  Although, the Lord came suddenly without warning, I say to you my spouse and I are forever grateful that He did… for certain destruction was at our doorstep!  

The Lord came to us just a few short weeks after taking this photo to save us from certain destruction and for a long time it has been hard to think of myself before I was walking with Him.  Life before union with Christ was lonely, painful, and confusing.  I “did all the things,” I was a great wife, a selfless mother, a good daughter, and an excellent nurse… but still ended up on the losing end and in pain.   

Prior to knowing Jesus I look back at myself in pictures and lament at how lost I was, how UNPROTECTED I was, and how I desperately needed the love of my Heavenly Father. I didn’t even realize it until I had no one to turn to – Does any of that sound familiar?  Coming to the end of yourself often becomes the beginning of a beautiful walk with Jesus.

The day of the Lord came as a wake up call to me and my spouse that we couldn’t do it alone or in the way I had always done – 

I thought I could do life on my own, in my own strength… with my own figuring.    I’m still working out the pain, guilt, and sadness from the consequence of not knowing Him, but Galatians 2:20 helps remind me that “old me” is dead and the new me is here WITH JESUS!  Galatians 2:20 TPT says, “My old identity has been co-crucified with Messiah and no longer lives; for the nails of His cross crucified me with Him.  Now the essence of this new life is no longer mine, for the Anointed One lives his life through me – we live in union as one!”   For me, leaving the “old self” is sometimes a daily process -> 

2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” You have the ability to walk in the NEWNESS. The old HAS GONE, the new is HERE!  Your old self has been co-crucified with Jesus on the cross when you accept Him as your Lord & Savior.  What would it look like to walk in the newness and leave the “old self” behind you for good?  I think that’s a glow up we’d all love to have!  Click here to get started on your glow up!

Be comforted that we are not our past, when we are co crucified with the Lord we become resurrected, reborn, and new with Him for eternity!  He restores what the locusts have stolen (Joel 2:25) and replaces it with His goodness, His faithfulness, His blessing, and His grace.  No weapon formed against us can prosper when you are truly living in your newness with Christ (Isaiah 54:17).  We are worthy because He chose us.  I’m so gr
